Ross-on-Wye and the River

A Tuck's Oilette Postcard (no. 7361) of the 'Ross. The Horse Shoe'.

A postcard (published by the Ross Gazette) titled 'View of Ross from the Prospect' circa 1910. The card is actually a view of the river Wye rather than Ross and is most likely to have been taken from the church tower rather than the Prospect as the building seen to the bottom right is the Royal Hotel that is, in fact, next to the Prospect and the church is then behind the Prospect and the Royal.

A postcard (published by Photochrom - no. 40409) titled "Ross-on-Wye, Horse Shoe Bend" circa 1940. The card is, like the one above, most likely to have been taken from the church tower. The building seen to the bottom right is the Royal Hotel and Wilton Road can just be made out in the very far left of the shot. The trees in the forground have grown since the shot above was taken and the glass house has either been removed or is obscured by the trees.
