Woodville - Expansion
1961
|
This is the original site and the expansion can be seen in the following images.
|
1965
By 1965 the factory buildings had grown more than fourfold. Unfortunately it was at about this time that the railway line adjoining the site, closed, thus ending the company's plan of having their own siding.

1970
|
The ten years between 1965 and 1975 saw the company grow more rapidly than at any other time during its history. This can be credited mainly to the fact that Woodville was producing extensively for the Skefco ball-bearing company and in fact the building constructed in 1970 was built exclusively for the manufacture of bearing seals.
|
1975
The buildings had again seen rapid expansion during this period. The building on the right, constructed in 1973 was of a new design and needed no roof supports other than at the edges, therefore there were no restrictions on the positioning of equipment.

1979
|
This picture brings the site up to 1979, even since the 1975 one there had been five new building additions as well as the construction of a new car park and the purchase of a building previously occupied by another company which was converted into Woodville's despatch department.

Many of the details are taken from The History of Woodville Polymer Products by Gary Minton. Gary was doing a industrial placement, presumably as
part of his education, when he created the original document. - Thanks to Dennis Eagles for supplying these details
