Ross-on-Wye

This is the view down the Royal Parade, which is the street that runs down the front of the Royal Hotel from the Palace Pound down to Wilton Road. In the distance you can see the recently rebuilt Ice House.

This is an shot of the Royal Parade taken in the early 1900's looking up from Wilton Road (taken from a letter card). To the right of the shot can be seen the animal pound that used to be at the bottom the Parade. It was a small building with slit windows and a door in the front. This, or one similar in the area, is possibly where the Pound part of the Palace Pound originated from.
