G. Llewellyn as tenant.

Prior to 1927 the Barrel Inn was part of the Barrel Brewery2 and was described as:


THE BARREL INN
A Fully Licensed House
situate adjoining the Brewery and in an excellent position in a main street, near to the centre of the town, market and station.
It is substantially built with attractive frontage plastered and painted.
On the ground floor the frontage is occupied by a public bar and smoke room providing ample accommodation. At the rear, communicating with the bar and approached by a side entrance with separate doorways, are private bar and saloon bar, paneled and fitted with glazed cupboards in recess.
The public rooms are conveniently arranged for control and service.
On the first floor is an excellent and well-lighted dining or recreation room, 39 ft. 3 by 17 ft. 8, with two fireplaces, kitchen with stove, dresser and cupboard, scullery with sink, w.c., and two sitting rooms.

ALL THAT messuage or Inn known as The George Hotel situate at Ross in the County of Hereford and all outbuildings and appurtenances thereunto belonging comprising in the rear a yard with brick built stabling for eleven large coach house with loft over coal house ostlers room W.C. and urinal and two timber erected sheds with corrugated iron roof and all other outbuildings and appurtenances there¬unto belonging which said premises are now in the occupation of John Weeds as tenant AND ALSO ALL THAT messuage and shop adjoining being Number 14 High Street Ross aforesaid now in the occupation of J. Metcalfe as tenant and all outbuildings and appurtenances thereunto belonging TOGETHER with the site thereof and the land occupied therewith.


The Green Dragon

Prior to 1937 the Green Dragon was part of the Wintle's Brewery1 and was described as:


74. ROSS — GREEN DRAGON.
ALL THAT messuage or Inn known as the Green Dragon situate at Brookend Ross in the County of Hereford and all outbuildings and appurtenances thereunto belonging comprising in the rear a small yard with timber erection of skittle alley cart shed urinal W.C. coal store and stone built stabling for four with loft over and all other outbuildings and appurtenances thereunto belonging which said premises are now the occupation of William James as tenant AND ALSO ALL THAT workshop etc. in the rear thereof and now in the occupation of Messrs. Taylor and Jones as lessees and all outbuildings and appurtenances thereunto belonging TOGETHER with the site thereof and the land occupied therewith.


The Harp Inn

Prior to 1937 the Harp Inn was part of the Wintle's Brewery1 and was described as:


75. ROSS - HARP INN.
ALL THAT messuage or Inn known as the Harp situate at Alton Street Ross in the County of Hereford and all outbuildings and appurtenances thereunto belonging comprising in the rear a small yard W.C. and urinal and all other out¬buildings and appurtenances thereunto belonging which said premises are now in the occupation of E. L. Lloyd as tenant AND ALSO ALL THAT messuage known as Harp Cottage Number 4 Alton Street and adjoining the said premises which said messuage is now in the occupation of Thomas Welsh and all outbuildings and appurtenances thereunto belonging TOGETHER with the site thereof and the land occupied therewith.


The Lamb Inn

Prior to 1937 The Lamb Inn was part of the Wintle's Brewery1 and was described as:


76. ROSS — LAMB INN.
ALL THAT piece or parcel of land situate in the Urban Parish of Ross in the County of Hereford with the messuage and other buildings thereon now known as "The Lamb Inn" and Numbered 11 Broad Street AND ALSO ALL THAT cottage behind or near to the said premises formerly Numbered 12 Broad Street with stable yard and garden adjoining same now in the occupation of William Davis as tenant. All which premises herein before described are delineated on the plan drawn in a Conveyance dated the twenty-third day of January One thousand nine hundred and twenty made between Hannah Edith Purchase of the one part Griffiths Thomas William Purchase and John Raymond Morton Ball of the second part and Emily Louise Nicholls of the third part and therein coloured pink and light pink TOGETHER with the freehold passage on the North East side of the Lamb Inn premises delineated and coloured brown on the said plan.


The Wine Vaults

Prior to 1927 the The Wine Vaults was part of the Barrel Brewery2 and was described as:


THE WINE VAULTS
St. Mary Street, Ross
being a fully-licensed freehold property occupying an excellent position near to the Market Place.
The house is very substantially built of brick with slated roof and comprises entrance passage from the street giving separate access to the dwelling house and to the public rooms. The latter comprise bar, first and second smoke rooms, lavatory accommodation, and over the bar and smoke room is a club room 31 ft. x 15 ft. with cloakroom and lavatory near.
The public rooms are conveniently arranged for service.
The dwelling house contains on the ground floor front sitting room, kitchen, and at the back is a yard with w.c. ; adjoining are scullery and shed. On the first floor are landing and two bedrooms and on the second floor are two bedrooms.
There is a good cellar beneath the sitting room and a beer cellar beneath the bar.
Water and gas are laid on and electric light is installed in the public rooms.
It is let to Mr R. S. Jenkins at a tied rent of £30 a year but vacant possession may be had on completion.


The Nag's Head Inn

Prior to 1927 the The Nag's Head Inn was part of the Barrel Brewery2 and was described as:


THE NAG'S HEAD INN
(The Unexpired Term of the Lease of)
This house occupies a corner position at the Junction of High Street and Old Gloucester Road and is near to the centre of Ross.
The house is fully licensed and contains entrance hall, public bar, private bar, cellar, smoke room, pantry, sitting room temporarily divided to form two rooms ; scullery with furnace and sink and entrance from a yard at the back. On the upper floors are large club room, six bedrooms, bath room, w.c., and two attics.
There is good cellarage.
At the back of the premises, and approached from Old Gloucester Road, are yards and stabling for twenty horses.
This is a very commodious and well-arranged house with a good connection in the centre of Ross.
The premises are held on lease at a rent of £60 per annum to the 25th March, 1933 and are sublet to Mr W. H. Pearson at the tied rent of £50 a year. The sale is subject to an assignment of the lease being granted to the purchaser of the unexpired term.


The Pheasant Inn

Prior to 1927 the The Pheasant Inn was part of the Barrel Brewery2 and was described as:


THE PHEASANT INN
(The Unexpired Term of the Lease of)
Eddecross Street, Ross
This house is situate in the street leading from the Cattle Market to the centre of the town and is in a good position for trade. It is licensed as a beer house.
The property is in good condition and contains bar with cellar at back, smoke room, kitchen, pantry and back kitchen. On the first floor are sitting room, three bedrooms and store room and on the second floor two attic rooms.
At the back of the house is a large yard with store shed. Gas and water are laid on.
The property is held on lease at a rent of £40 a year to the 25th of March, 1933, and is sublet to Mr E. W. Prosser at a tied rent of £30 a year. The sale is subject to an assignment of the lease being obtained in favour of the purchaser.
