Old photos of Purland Chase
Purland Chase was built in 1866 in the Parish of Walford as a 'house in the country' rather than a 'true' country house with a landed estate.
| The front of Purland Chase had double-height oriel windows in a vaguely Tudor style as seen here. |
The house was a large four-square house with a long drive running up to it to give it impact. | The drive to the back of the house [Courtesy J.C.Coombes] (Click for a larger image) |
| The house survived a serious fire in 1923 but fell into disrepair and was finallydemolished in 1965.
